Leave your Hotel in Zanzibar early morning drive to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (formerly Zanzibar Airport) for the chartered flight to Same or Kisima Airstrips. Expect our experienced driver guide at the Airstrip near/inside Mkomazi National Park to welcome and introduce you to the safari you are about to embark on.
Connect from the Airstrip to Zange gate for registration and clearance of relevant fees then embark on a game viewing tour through the spectacular savannah plains of Mkomazi National Park. Exceptional wildlife species like common elands, African bush elephants, Masai giraffes, fringe-eared Oryx, Cape buffaloes and zebras are commonly spotted during the game drive while gerenuks, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas and cheetahs are rare but lucky visitors usually encounter them during game drives. Of the 400 bird species that call Mkomazi home, you are likely to encounter at least 50 species with the popular pones being Ostriches, secretary birds and Guinea fowls among others.
After this riveting adventure, a hot lunch awaits you at the popular Mkomazi Cottage or Kisima Camp. Alternatively, you can opt for a picnic lunch at any of the picnic Sites that include Mbula, Dindira view point or Vitewini view point. Afterwards take short tours to Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary, a private Rhino Project before returning to the Airstrip and flying back to Zanzibar Airport.
